Aventon and Velotric sell the same kinds of bike to the same buyers, often at the same price. We paired the models built for the same job and put the numbers their product pages publish side by side. We have not ridden either brand's bikes: this is a comparison of what they print, read on November 7, 2026.
The two brands in figures
- Aventon: 12 in-stock e-bikes read, $1,199 to $5,999. Batteries described in full (volts, amp-hours, watt-hours, cell maker). One range condition for all: a 165 lb rider, Eco mode, flat paved road.
- Velotric: 15 in-stock e-bikes read, $1,199 to $2,399. Most bikes switch between Class 1, 2 and 3 ("Max Speed Adjustable Range: 12~28 MPH"). Pedal-assist and throttle ranges given separately, for a 187 lb rider.

What the matchups show
- Classes. Velotric's bikes publish all three classes; Aventon's Level 4 REC is Class 2 convertible to 3, and its Pace 5 REC, Aventure 3, Abound and Soltera 2.5 are Class 2 only. If you want Class 3 on a road commute, that tips toward Velotric or the Level 4 REC.
- Weight limits. Velotric prints higher limits on the commuters (440 lb on the Discover 3 against 300 lb on the Level 4 REC), but on most models does not say whether the bike counts. Read both ways in the weight limit checker.
- Batteries. Within 70 Wh of each other in five of the six pairs; the exception is the Breeze 1 (627 Wh), 106 Wh smaller than the Pace 5 REC (733 Wh) [calc]. Aventon gets there with 36 V packs, Velotric with 48 V.

Frequently asked questions
Is Aventon or Velotric better?
From published numbers alone, neither wins across the board. In our six matchups Velotric prints more class settings (1, 2 and 3 on most bikes) and larger weight limits, while Aventon prints more battery detail (volts, amp-hours and cells) and a precise range test condition. On November 7, 2026 the Aventon was the cheaper bike in five of the six pairs, by $100 to $250; the Velotric Discover M undercut the Level 4 ADV by $300.
Which has the longer range, Aventon or Velotric?
Advertised figures are not comparable as printed: Aventon tests with a 165 lb rider, Velotric with a 187 lb rider, both in their lowest mode on flat roads. Compare battery watt-hours instead: the Level 4 REC carries 733 Wh, the Discover 3 730 Wh.
Do Aventon and Velotric bikes have UL certification?
Most of the pages say so. UL 2849 appears on 8 of the 12 Aventon pages and 14 of the 15 Velotric pages we read; the matchups below show the exact wording for each bike.
