Watt Mile is an independent website. It is meant to be paid through affiliate links: when you click a link to a brand store (Aventon, Velotric, Lectric eBikes, Ride1Up, Himiway) and buy, the store may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. This is a material connection under the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), so we disclose it at the top of every page with such links, close to the links themselves, and here. As of November 7, 2026, no affiliate program has accepted the site yet: links go to the stores' product pages without tracking.
How we work
- We have not bought, ridden or tested any e-bike. We never describe ride feel, comfort or reliability from experience. We compare what the brands publish on their product pages, line by line.
- Every figure has its source and the date we read it (November 7, 2026). When a figure is not published, we write "not published". Our own arithmetic is marked [calc].
- No brand or store pays to be listed or ranked. "Our picks" follow a written rule: the cheapest bike that meets the stated condition. Tables are sorted by price or by the figure in the column, never by commission.
- We publish no customer reviews, no ratings, no stars and no "tested" claims, in line with the FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
Prices
Prices are those shown by the stores on the day we checked, including sale prices. A struck-through price appears only when the store itself shows a compare-at price. Prices change often: check the store before you buy. Criteria, sources and dates in detail: how we compare.
